13:20 PST: an availability zone in AWS Frankfurt data center experienced a major outage. Our failover system did not properly respond to this outage, and caused all users connecting through the Frankfurt region to fail to get a response.
16:10 PST: region restored and properly responding. Engineers are working on fixing our failover system, so issue no longer happens.
